Belly Balusters

• With or Without a “Nose”: The nose is a small, shaped detail at the top of the curve. It also provides a more traditional, finished look. Opting for a design without the nose results in a cleaner, more continuous line for a modern take on the classic shape.
• With or Without a Straight “Tail”: The tail is the straight section at the bottom of the picket. Pickets with tails are designed for standard mounting on a bottom rail. Those without tails offer unique mounting possibilities, such as being affixed directly to the side of a rim joist for a distinct, floating appearance.
• Twists And Textures: The personality of the belly baluster can be further enhanced. A shaped picket follows its curve in smooth, plain metal. A hammered texture adds an artisanal, light-reflecting quality perfect for Mediterranean or Spanish Revival styles. Finally, a twist can be incorporated in the center of the belly, on the sloped sections leading to the top, or on the straight top area, each placement creating a unique visual flow and complexity.
